My website sat neglected for a long time. Now i've redesigned it, not in a big way, just a new stylesheet and reworked its one worst feature. It used to have a "diary" of what i thought would be short entries about things going on currently, or things that happened long ago, or random topics. Adding a page wasn't hard, but then it wasn't as easy as eating chocolate. The idea was sort of like a blog, which i now do here with my Eponym account. As for random topics, those can go into a directory called "bits". Longer in-depth treatments of more technical topics, e.g. my Perfect Sine Wave Generator, go into a directory names "spec". The pages there are organized by project, and each project is its own little standalone web mini-site. Maybe just a page or two of description, full of illustrations or photos, no navigation. I didn't have to touch spec/ when reworking the site - just leave that as it was. The rest of my site was not well-populated with much of anything, so reworking that was nearly trivial. Adding a new "bits" page is easier. I am pleased with the result, though it is no masterpiece of web design. For a personal site, it is fine.
